Does it feel like you can’t fit a hoop dance session into your day? Hooping regularly can brighten your mood and leaving you energized for the day. Here are 8 tips on how to find the time to hoop.
Let yourself enjoy that blissful post-flow feeling just a little bit more often!
#1. Rise & Shine Hoop Dance: Make hooping your morning ritual. What are some of the first things that you already do in the morning? See if you can tie and connect hooping to that habit. Do you start your day with a hot coffee or tea? Put you hoop in the kitchen before heading to bed and hoop it up while the kettle boils!
#2. Anywhere & Everywhere: Get yourself a collapsible hoop and strap it to your purse. Having a hoop with you at all times, means whenever you have down time you can fill it with hooping! Check out our blog on Hula Hoop Bags to find one that fits your hoops and your lifestyle.
#3. Plan a “Date Night”: If you have something you want to accomplish, sometimes the best thing you can do is simply set aside and dedicate a scheduled time to work towards that goal. Every Sunday look at your schedule and pick a time within that week that you will dedicate to your hoop dance practice.
#4. Netflix & Hoop: Instead of sitting on the couch while you watch a show, hoop at the same time instead!
#5. Playtime at the Park: If you’re a mom, make the kids play time, your play time too. Go for a walk to the park, bring along a little speaker for some music and jam out with the kids.
#6. Hoop Dance during your lunch break: I used to hoop EVERY second of my work breaks. Stash a hoop behind your desk. Ten minutes of hooping during a break will dramatically change your energy levels and make the work day go by faster.
#7. Curb your Bad Habit: Do you smoke, do you bite your nails, or are those chips in the pantry calling your name? If your sitting at home and hankering for something you know you shouldn’t have, instead of giving in, grab your hoop instead.
#8. Replace Wasted Time: There is no real way to “make time” so the best alternative is to look through you daily and weekly schedule to see if there’s something you are doing that doesn’t increase your happiness the way hooping does. Maybe it’s too much time spent on Facebook or browsing YouTube Videos. Whatever it is, see if you can cut back on these activities and amp up your hooping instead.
